Spring is the single best time to assess your roof in Boise. Winter freeze-thaw cycles, snow load, and ice dams do their damage between November and March. Spring lets you find that damage while repair costs are still modest and before summer heat compounds any moisture issues that developed during winter.

From the Ground

Walk the perimeter of your home and look for missing or displaced shingles, granules in gutters, sagging or uneven roof lines, damaged fascia or soffit, and lifted or rusted flashing around chimneys and walls. You can learn a great deal about your roof without ever leaving the ground.

From the Attic

A five-minute attic inspection can reveal moisture damage you'd never see from outside. Look for daylight coming through the roof deck, water stains or discoloration on rafters or decking, mold or mildew growth, and insulation that looks compressed or discolored by moisture.

When to Call a Professional

If your ground-level or attic inspection turns up anything on this list, a professional assessment is worth scheduling before the summer roof replacement busy season begins. Our estimates are free and typically scheduled within the same week throughout The Treasure Valley.
